Description
The Committee is in receipt of a correspondence, dated November 13, 2017, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2018 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO APPENDIX A, PART I, GRANT REVENUE - SCHEDULE OF GRANTS BY DEPARTMENTS AND PROGRAMS, EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (STATE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT (SHSG) PROGRAM).” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend Appendix A, Part I, Grant Revenue - Schedule of Grants by Departments and Programs, Fiscal Year 2018 Budget, by increasing the grant for the Emergency Management Agency, State Homeland Security Grant (SHSG) Program, by $233,000. The funds will be used to prevent, deter, respond to, and recover from threats and incidents of terrorism, and support the County in leveraging funding to support its National Preparedness System initiatives.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of the correspondence and other related action.
