Title

DONATION OF (200) 2-COUNT NALOXONE NASAL SPRAY UNITS AND TRAINING AND TRAVEL EXPENSES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE  (PEA-81)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     County Communication 18-228, from the Chief of Police, transmitting a proposed resolution to authorize acceptance of the donation of 200 2-count Naloxone nasal spray units, to counter opioid overdose and accidental opioid exposure for all police officers employed in the Department of Police, along with associated training/travel expenses, collectively valued at approximately $16,000, from The Community Health Outreach Work Project.

2.                     Correspondence dated September 10, 2018, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting a revised proposed resolution entitled “AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE DONATION OF (200) 2-COUNT NALOXONE NASAL SPRAY UNITS, TRAINING/TRAVEL EXPENSES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 3.56, MAUI COUNTY CODE.”  The purpose of the revised proposed resolution is to correct the resolution’s title and incorporate other nonsubstantive revisions.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of the revised proposed resolution, with or without further revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 18-228 and other related action.
