AMENDMENTS TO APPENDIX A, GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES - SCHEDULE OF GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES BY DEPARTMENTS AND PROGRAMS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019 (DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS (FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION, FEDERAL-AID, AND OTHER TRANSPORTATION GRANTS)) (BF-157(6))
Description
The Committee is in receipt of a correspondence, dated October 5, 2018, from the Budget Director, transmitting the following:
1. A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2019 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO APPENDIX A, PART I, GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES - SCHEDULE OF GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES BY DEPARTMENTS AND PROGRAMS, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS (FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION, FEDERAL-AID AND OTHER TRANSPORTATION GRANTS).” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend Appendix A, Part I, Grants and Restricted Use Revenues - Schedule of Grants and Restricted Use Revenues by Departments and Programs, Fiscal Year 2019 Budget, for the Department of Public Works, by increasing the appropriation entitled “Federal Highway Administration, Federal-Aid and Other Transportation Grants,” by $1,020,000. The Department received the additional funds from the Federal Safe Routes to School Program for the Paia School frontage and sidewalk improvements.
2. A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2019 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO APPENDIX C - CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, COUNTYWIDE, COUNTYWIDE FEDERAL AID PROGRAM.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2019 Budget, Appendix C ― Capital Improvement Projects, under the Department of Public Works, Countywide, by increasing the appropriation entitled “Countywide Federal Aid Program” by 1) $1,020,000 for the additional funds received from the Federal Safe Routes to School Program; 2) $12,500,000 for funds already recognized in Appendix A under the Federal Highway Administration, Federal-Aid and Other Transportation Grants; 3) $2,000,000 from the Bond Fund under Countywide Federal Aid Program for a total appropriation of $15,520,000; and 4) expanding the project description.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bills on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider filing of the correspondence and other related action.
