INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, PACIFIC ISLANDS WATER SCIENCE CENTER, UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR (BF-184)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 18-372, from the Director of Water Supply, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, PACIFIC ISLANDS WATER SCIENCE CENTER, UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to authorize the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with U.S. Geological Survey, Pacific Islands Water Science Center, United States Department of the Interior (USGS), and the County of Maui Department of Water Supply to continue its cooperative water-resource monitoring program, during the period of October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019. The cost contribution by the Department of Water Supply is $57,231 and $33,639 by the USGS, for a total cost of $90,870.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 18-372 and other related action.
