AMENDMENTS TO APPENDIX A, GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES - SCHEDULE OF GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES BY DEPARTMENTS AND PROGRAMS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019 (EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (STATE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT (SHSG) PROGRAM))  (BF-157(7))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of correspondence, dated October 19, 2018, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2019 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO APPENDIX A, PART I, GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES - SCHEDULE OF GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES BY DEPARTMENTS AND PROGRAMS, EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (STATE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT (SHSG) PROGRAM).”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend Appendix A, Part I, Grants and Restricted Use Revenues - Schedule of Grants and Restricted Use Revenues by Departments and Programs, Fiscal Year 2019 Budget, for the Emergency Management Agency, by increasing the appropriation for the State Homeland Security Grant (SHSG) Program by $254,000.  The total grant amount is $754,000.  The following projects will be funded by the grant:  Department of Police, Intelligence/Information Sharing for Maui County; Department of Management, Information Technology Services Divisions, Cybersecurity and Information System Resiliency; and Maui Emergency Management Agency, Emergency Operations Center Infrastructure Upgrade and All-Hazard Incident Management training.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of the correspondence and other related action.
