NOTICE OF GRANT AWARD FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION PROGRAM  (BF-160)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     County Communication 18-277, from the First Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, transmitting a notice of grant award from the State of Hawaii, Department of the Attorney General, Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, for the Domestic Violence Investigation Program, in the amount of $55,380 in Federal funds and requiring a 25 percent County match of $18,460 for the period of May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019.

2.                     Correspondence dated November 2, 2018, from the Prosecuting Attorney, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, STATE OF HAWAII.”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to authorize the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the State of Hawaii, Department of the Attorney General, granting to the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney a maximum amount of $55,380 for the Domestic Violence Investigation Program for the period of May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019.  The County of Maui is required to provide matching funds in the amount of $18,460.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 18-277 and other related action.
