COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICTS (PEA-93)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. County Communication 18-398, from Councilmember Yuki Lei K. Sugimura, relating to Community Facilities Districts.
2. Correspondence dated November 9, 2018, from Councilmember Yuki Lei Sugimura, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3, MAUI COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICTS.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Maui County Code by adding a new Chapter 3.75, relating to community facilities districts. As proposed, a “community facility district” is defined to mean a district of land established by the County, pursuant to the newly proposed chapter, for financing special improvements.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 18-398 and other related action.
