Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. County Communication 18-114, from the Mayor, transmitting a proposed resolution to authorize the disposition of approximately 33.373 acres located in Launiupoko, Maui, Hawaii, identified for real property tax purposes as tax map key number (2) 4-7-001:030 (por.) for the purpose of the realignment of Honoapiilani Highway, Phase 1B-2.
2. Correspondence dated November 21, 2018, from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, transmitting a revised proposed resolution entitled “AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSITION OF APPROXIMATELY 33.373 ACRES OF COUNTY REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN LAUNIUPOKO, MAUI, HAWAII, TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, STATE OF HAWAII, FOR THE HONOAPIILANI HIGHWAY REALIGNMENT, PHASE 1B-2.” The purpose of the revised proposed resolution is to include the State’s offer to pay the County $1,251,798 for the additional acreage used by the State Department of Transportation to construct the Lahaina Bypass. The proceeds from the transaction shall be deposited to the Open Space, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources, and Scenic Views Preservation Fund.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of the revised proposed resolution, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 18-114 and other related action.
