AMENDING SECTION 14.07.090, MAUI COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO DURATION OF WATER METER RESERVATION  (WAI-24)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of following:

1.  County Communication 18-415, from the Director of Water Supply, transmitting a proposed bill to extend the duration of water meter reservations from two years plus two six-month extensions to a total of five years.

2. Correspondence dated February 4, 2019, from the Chair of the Committee, transmitting a revised proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14.07.090, MAUI COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO DURATION OF WATER METER RESERVATION.”  The purpose of the revised proposed bill is to extend the duration of water meter reservations from two years plus two six-month extensions to a total of five years, and to provide that existing valid water meter reservations shall also have a total duration of five years from the date of the department’s  approval of the water meter reservation.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the revised proposed bill on first reading, with or without further revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 18-415 and other related action.

With reference to this agenda item, one or more executive meetings are anticipated pursuant to Section 92-5(a)(4), Hawaii Revised Statutes, to consult with legal counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities of the County, the Council, and the Committee.
