AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2019 BUDGET:  OPEN SPACE, NATURAL RESOURCES, CULTURAL RESOURCES, AND SCENIC VIEWS PRESERVATION FUND (HAWAIIAN ISLANDS LAND TRUST)  (EDB-182)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 18-367, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING APPENDIX A OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2019 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO PART II, SPECIAL PURPOSE REVENUES - SCHEDULE OF REVOLVING/SPECIAL FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019, OPEN SPACE, NATURAL RESOURCES, CULTURAL RESOURCES, AND SCENIC VIEWS PRESERVATION FUND.”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend Appendix A, Part II, Special Purpose Revenues - Schedule of Revolving/Special Funds, Fiscal Year 2019, Open Space, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources, and Scenic Views Preservation Fund, by adding a proviso that $110,000 shall be for grants and disbursements to the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust for land acquisition for a perpetual conservation easement over tax map keys  (2) 1-1-003:041 and (2) 1-1-003:065, Keanae, Maui, Hawaii, totaling approximately six acres.

 

Status

Scott Fisher, Hawaiian Islands Land Trust. may participate as a resource person, pursuant to Rule 18(A) of the Rules of the Council.  The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 18-367 and other related action.
