AMENDMENTS TO APPENDIX A, GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES - SCHEDULE OF GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES BY DEPARTMENTS AND PROGRAMS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019 (DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND PUBLIC SAFETY (HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY)) (EDB-157(3))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of correspondence dated February 1, 2019, from the Budget Director, transmitting the following:

1.                     A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2019 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO APPENDIX A, PART I, GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES - SCHEDULE OF GRANTS AND RESTRICTED USE REVENUES BY DEPARTMENTS AND PROGRAMS, DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND PUBLIC SAFETY (HAWAII TOURISM AUTHORITY).”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend Appendix A, Part I, Grants and Restricted Use Revenues - Schedule of Grants and Restricted Use Revenues by Departments and Programs, Fiscal Year 2019 Budget, for the Department of Fire and Public Safety, by adding a new appropriation entitled “Hawaii Tourism Authority” in the amount of $125,000 for the acquisition of emergency rescue equipment relating to ocean safety.

2.                     A proposed Memorandum of Agreement between The Hawai`i Tourism Authority and County of Maui relating to the $125,000 and the scope of services for which the funds will be used.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of the correspondence and other related action.
