AMENDING FISCAL YEAR 2020 BUDGET:  DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND PUBLIC SAFETY (ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM AND OCEAN SAFETY PROGRAM)  (EDB-61)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 19-475, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND PUBLIC SAFETY (ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM AND OCEAN SAFETY PROGRAM).”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget by amending Section 3.B.5, Department of Fire and Public Safety, by 1) under the Administration Program, increasing the equivalent personnel by 1.0 and increasing the Category A (Salaries) and Total appropriations by $25,900; and 2) under the Ocean Safety Program decreasing the equivalent personnel by 1.0 and decreasing the Category A (Salaries) and Total appropriations by $25,900, deleting the phrase “and $25,900 shall be for a Secretary I” from proviso (2), deleting “$17,000” and inserting the word “funds” in its place in proviso (3), adding “upon request by the employee” at the end of proviso (3), and deleting proviso (5), which reads “Provided, that $7,000 shall be for Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) locating devices.”

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 19-475 and other related action.
