AMENDMENTS TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2020 BUDGET TO AUTHORIZE TRANSFERS BETWEEN CATEGORIES OF USE WITHIN A PROGRAM OR DEPARTMENT (DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS) (EDB-46(1))
Description
The Committee is in receipt of a correspondence dated January 2, 2020, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF AN UNENCUMBERED APPROPRIATION BALANCE WITHin THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, FISCAL YEAR 2020 BUDGET.” The purpose of the proposed resolution is to amend the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget within the Department of Public Works by transferring an unencumbered appropriation balance of $225,000 from the Engineering Program - General Fund, Category A (Salaries), to the Engineering Program - General Fund, Category B (Operations), to address unexpected emergency repairs, increasing repair and maintenance costs for the Kalana O Maui campus, the outsourcing of survey work because of current vacancies in the Program, and Global Positioning System maintenance costs.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of the proposed resolution, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of the correspondence and other related action.
