MITIGATING CLIMATE-ACTIVATED DISASTERS (CAR-1(1))
Description
In accordance with Rule 7(B) of the Rules of the Council, the Committee intends to receive an update on the County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan that will serve as a meaningful blueprint for a more resilient and sustainable future for the County of Maui and address threats such as wildfires, significant beach erosion, highway rockslides, and related matters.
Status
The Committee may receive presentations from representatives of Maui Emergency Management Agency, the Steering Committee of County Leaders, and members of the consulting team led by Jamie Caplan Consulting LLC who are informing the update process of the County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan and may also discuss the matter. No legislative action will be taken.
