CENTRAL MAUI LANDFILL LAND PURCHASE (EDB-48)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Miscellaneous Communication, dated August 23, 2019, from the County Clerk, reporting that the Council referred the matter relating to the Central Maui Landfill Land Purchase Project, CBS-3567.
2. County Communication 20-51, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed bill amending the Fiscal Year 2020 general obligation bond authorization ordinance under the Department of Environmental Management, Wailuku-Kahului Community Plan Area, Sanitation, by adding the Central Maui Landfill Land Purchase project in the amount of $200,000, for an environmental assessment and land entitlements for 17 acres, to allow for the development of a dedicated emergency debris sorting and recovery site and other ancillary facilities.
3. Correspondence dated January 31, 2020, from the Committee Chair, transmitting informational documents pertaining to the Central Maui Landfill Land Purchase project.
4. Correspondence dated February 13, 2020, from the Budget Director, transmitting the following:
1. A proposed bill entitled "A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO ESTIMATED REVENUES; DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, WAILUKU-KAHULUI COMMUNITY PLAN AREA, SANITATION, BOND FUND, CENTRAL MAUI LANDFILL LAND PURCHASE; TOTAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT APPROPRIATIONS; TOTAL APPROPRIATIONS (OPERATING AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS)." The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget, for the purchase of 63 acres, to allow for the development of a dedicated emergency debris sorting and recovery site and other ancillary facilities, by: 1) increasing estimated revenues for Bond/Lapsed Bond by $1,800,000; 2) amending Section 4.A.7.a.(1)ii, Department of Environmental Management, Wailuku-Kahului Community Plan Area, Sanitation, Bond Fund, by increasing the appropriation for the Central Mau...
