Title

amending fiscal year 2020 budget:  DEPARTMENT OF POLICE (WAILUKU POLICE STATION FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT)  (EDB-77)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 20-111, from the Budget Director, transmitting the following:

 

1.                     A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO ESTIMATED REVENUES; DEPARTMENT OF POLICE, WAILUKU-KAHULUI COMMUNITY PLAN AREA, GOVERNMENT FACILITIES, BOND FUND, WAILUKU POLICE STATION FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT; TOTAL OPERATING APPROPRIATIONS; AND TOTAL APPROPRIATIONS (OPERATING AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS).”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget by:  1) increasing Bond/Lapsed Bond by $450,500;  2) amending Section 4.F.2.a.(1), Department of Police, Wailuku-Kahului Community Plan Area, Government Facilities, Bond Fund, by adding a project entitled “Wailuku Police Station Fuel Tank Replacement” in the amount of $450,500; and 3) adjusting the totals accordingly.

 

2.                     A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO APPENDIX C - CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, DEPARTMENT OF POLICE, WAILUKU-KAHULUI COMMUNITY PLAN AREA (WAILUKU POLICE STATION FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT).”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget, Appendix C, Capital Improvement Projects, by adding an appropriation for the Wailuku-Kahului Community Plan Area for a project entitled “Wailuku Police Station Fuel Tank Replacement,” under the Department of Police, in the amount of $450,500, and a description of the project.

 

3.                     A proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4985, BILL NO. 34 (2019), RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI ISSUANCE, SALE AND DELIVERY OF SAID BONDS (DEPARTMENT OF POLICE - WAILUKU POLICE STATION FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT)”.  The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2020 general obligation bond authorization ordinance by adding an appropriation for the Wailuku-Kahului Community Plan Area, Government Facilities, for a project entitled “Wailuku Police Station Fuel Tank Replacement,” in the amount of $450,500, under the Department of Police.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bills on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 20-111, and other correspondence, and other related action.

 

Note

With reference to this agenda item, one or more executive meetings pursuant to Section 92-5(a), Hawaii Revised Statutes, may be held:

(1)                     to consider and evaluate personal information relating to individuals applying for professional or vocational licenses cited in Section 26-9 or both;

(2)                     to consider the hire, evaluation, dismissal, or discipline of an officer or employee or of charges brought against the officer or employee, where consideration of matters affecting privacy will be involved; provided that if the individual concerned requests an open meeting, an open meeting shall be held;

(3)                     to deliberate concerning the authority of persons designated by the County, the Council, or the Committee to conduct labor negotiations or to negotiate the acquisition of public property, or during the conduct of such negotiations;

(4)                     to consult with legal counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities of the County, the Council, and the Committee;

(5)                     to investigate proceedings regarding criminal misconduct;

(6)                     to consider sensitive matters related to public safety or security;

(7)                     to consider matters relating to the solicitation and acceptance of private donations; and

(8)                     to deliberate or make a decision upon a matter that requires the consideration of information that must be kept confidential pursuant to a State or Federal law, or a court order.
