INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE OFFICE OF THE AUDITOR, STATE OF HAWAII  (EDB-70)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 20-42, from the Director of Finance, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE OFFICE OF THE AUDITOR, STATE OF HAWAII, TO AUDIT THE SCHEDULE OF ALLOCATIONS OF THE EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF THE STATE OF HAWAII.”  The purpose of the proposed bill is to authorize the Mayor to enter into the Memorandum of Understanding attached as Exhibit 1 to the bill, with the Office of the Auditor, State of Hawaii, to conduct an audit, for Fiscal Years 2019, 2020, and 2021, to meet the reporting requirements under Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statement Number 68.  The Memorandum of Understanding authorizes the payment of $3,900.00 for each fiscal year by the County of Maui for the audit.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 20-42 and other related action.
