COMMISSION ON HOMELESSNESS  (AH-37)

 

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     County Communication 20-313, from Council Vice-Chair Keani Rawlins-Fernandez, relating to the matter of a commission on homelessness.

2.                     Correspondence dated June 10, 2020, from Council Vice-Chair Keani Rawlins-Fernandez, transmitting a proposed bill to establish an advisory group to help combat and eliminate homelessness and poverty in Maui County.

3.                     Correspondence dated June 30, 2020, from Committee Chair Tasha Kama, transmitting a revised proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE COMMISSION ON HEALING SOLUTIONS FOR HOMELESSNESS.”  The revised proposed bill incorporates formatting and nonsubstantive revisions.

 

Status

The Committee may discuss establishing a commission on homelessness and related matters, and may consider whether to recommend passage of the revised proposed bill on first reading, with or without further revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 20-313 and other related action.
