FISCAL YEAR 2021 APPROPRIATION FOR OTHER POST-EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS (EDB-103)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. County Communication 20-431, from Council Vice-Chair Keani N.W. Rawlins-Fernandez, relating to the Fiscal Year 2021 appropriation for other post-employment benefits.
2. Correspondence dated August 31, 2020, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2021 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE, COUNTYWIDE COSTS, POST-EMPLOYMENT OBLIGATIONS.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend the Fiscal Year 2021 Budget by amending the proviso for Post-Employment Obligations, Countywide Costs, Department of Finance, to read: “The annual required contribution of $13,000,000 must be paid to the State of Hawaii Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund by September 30, 2020 and the remaining appropriation may be remitted on or before June 30, 2021.”
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions. No legislative action will be taken.
