Description
The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 20-458, from the Director of Water Supply, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, PACIFIC ISLANDS WATER SCIENCE CENTER, UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR (COOPERATIVE WATER-RESOURCE MONITORING PROGRAM).” The purpose of the proposed bill is to authorize the Mayor to enter into a joint funding agreement for water resource investigations with the U.S. Geological Survey, Pacific Islands Water Science Center, United States Department of the Interior, to continue the cooperative water-resource monitoring program during the period of October 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 20-458 and other related action.
