Description
The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 20-498, from Councilmember Kelly Takaya King, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “SUPPORTING AN AGENDA TO TRANSFORM, HEAL, AND RENEW BY INVESTING IN A VIBRANT ECONOMY: “THRIVE”.” The purposes of the proposed resolution are to support an agenda to “THRIVE” and to encourage Maui County’s congressional delegation to cosponsor House Resolution 1102, “Recognizing the duty of the Federal Government to implement an agenda to Transform, Heal, and Renew by Investing in a Vibrant Economy (‘THRIVE’),” and its Senate counterpart.
Status
The Committee may receive remarks from Kaniela Ing, National Climate Justice Campaign Director at People’s Action, and the Office of the Mayor relating to the proposed resolution. The Committee may also discuss related matters and consider whether to recommend adoption of the proposed resolution, with or without revisions, and the filing of County Communication 20-498 and other related action.
