CENTRAL MAUI SANITARY LANDFILL SUBDIVISION (EDB-115)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 20-556, from the Director of Environmental Management, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF LOT 2-A-1-A, CENTRAL MAUI SANITARY LANDFILL SUBDIVISION, ISLAND AND COUNTY OF MAUI, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 3.44, MAUI COUNTY CODE.” The purpose of the proposed resolution is to authorize the County to acquire 59.307 acres, identified for real property tax purposes as tax map key (2) 3-8-003:025, located at Puunene, Maui, Hawaii, from Alexander & Baldwin, LLC, for $1,695,000. The property will be used for the expansion of the Central Maui Landfill and ancillary uses such as waste diversion and recycling.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of the proposed resolution, with or without revisions. No legislative action will be taken.
