HALE O PIʻIKEA AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT IN KIHEI (BFED-114)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. A Miscellaneous Communication, dated November 12, 2020, from the Deputy County Clerk, referring the matter relating to the Hale O Pi‘ikea Affordable Housing Project in Kihei, Maui Hawaii.
2. County Communication 21-118, from the Budget Director, transmitting a proposed bill entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING APPENDIX A OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2021 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI AS IT PERTAINS TO PART II, SPECIAL PURPOSE REVENUES - SCHEDULE OF REVOLVING/SPECIAL FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021, AFFORDABLE HOUSING FUND (HALE O PIIKEA).” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend Appendix A, Part II, Special Purpose Revenues - Schedule of Revolving/Special Funds for Fiscal Year 2021 Budget, by adding a proviso under the Affordable Housing fund that $5,768,650 shall be for the Hawaiian Community Development Board for land acquisition for the Hale O Piikea Project, TMK (2) 3-9-002-076, located at Piikea and Liloa Drive, Kihei, Maui, Hawaii.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider whether to recommend filing the Miscellaneous Communication, County Communication 21-118, and other related action.
