VISION ZERO ACTION PLAN FOR DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (CONTRACT C7001; TOOLE DESIGN GROUP LLC)  (IT-25(4))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

 

1.                     Miscellaneous Communication dated June 19, 2020, from the County Clerk, reporting that on June 19, 2020, the Council referred Contract C7001-1, between the County and Toole Design Group, LLC., for the Vision Zero Action Plan Project.

2.                     County Communication 21-239, from the Executive Director of the Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization transmitting a copy of the Vision Zero Maui Action Plan.

3.                     Correspondence dated June 1, 2021, from the Committee Chair, transmitting a proposed resolution entitled “ADOPTING THE VISION ZERO MAUI ACTION PLAN TO ELIMINATE TRAFFIC FATALITIES AND SERIOUS INJURIES BY 2040”.  The purpose of the proposed resolution is to adopt the Vision Zero Maui Action Plan as a guide to transportation program improvements that promote safety on Maui roads.

 

Status

The Committee may receive a presentation from the Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization regarding the Vision Zero Maui Action Plan and discuss related matters.  The Committee may also consider whether to recommend adoption of the proposed resolution noted in paragraph three, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 21-239, the Miscellaneous Communication, and other related action.
