LEGISLATION AND DISCUSSION ON THE EFFECT OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, RULES, CARES ACT, AND RELATED ISSUES  (BFED-85)

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     County Communication 20-207, from Council Chair Alice L. Lee, transmitting the matter relating to legislation and discussion on the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and related issues under the Economic Development and Budget Committee’s authority.

2.                     County Communication 20-275, from the Mayor, relating to COVID-19 updates, rules, CARES Act, and other related matters, and transmitting a report entitled “COVID-19 EXPENDITURES AS OF APRIL 30, 2020,” from the Budget Director.

 

Status

The Committee may consider the funds already appropriated to assist with responding to the coronavirus pandemic, including funds from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (“ARPA”); the State Legislature through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (“CARES”) Act; and other related matters.  The Committee may also consider whether to recommend the filing of County Communication 20-207, County Communication 20-275, and other related action.
