AUTHORIZING A GRANT OF A LEASE OF COUNTY RECREATIONAL SPACE TO PAIA YOUTH COUNCIL, INC. (HCP-20)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. County Communication 20-559, from the Director of Parks and Recreation, transmitting a proposed resolution to authorize the grant of a lease for 3.39 acres of County recreational space, identified for real property tax purposes as tax map keys (2) 2-5-005:017 (por.) and (2) 2-6-001:001 (por.), located at Paia, Maui, Hawaii, at a rental rate of one dollar per year, for the period ending April 30, 2071.
2. Correspondence dated August 9, 2021, from the Director of Parks and Recreation, transmitting a revised proposed resolution. The purpose of the revised proposed resolution is to authorize the grant of a lease for 1.46 acres and extend the duration of the lease to the period ending August 30, 2071.
3. Correspondence dated November 24, 2021, from the Director of Parks and Recreation, transmitting a revised proposed resolution entitled “AUTHORIZING A GRANT OF A LEASE OF COUNTY RECREATIONAL SPACE TO PAIA YOUTH COUNCIL, INC.” The purpose of the revised proposed resolution is to authorize the grant of a lease for 1.46 acres, at a rental rate of one dollar per year, extend the duration of the lease to the period ending January 31, 2072, and require a draft mitigation plan and other revisions.
Status
The Committee may receive an update from the Department of Parks and Recreation, and discuss related matters. The Committee may also consider whether to recommend adoption of the revised proposed resolution, with or without further revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 20-559 and other related action.
