ALLOWING STREETS, PARKS, AND FACILITIES TO BE NAMED AFTER FAMILIES (IT-81)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of County Communication 21-552, from Councilmember Yuki Lei K. Sugimura, transmitting a proposed bill entitled, “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.98, MAUI COUNTY CODE, ALLOWING STREETS, PARKS, AND FACILITIES TO BE NAMED AFTER FAMILIES.” The purpose of the proposed bill is to amend Chapter 2.98, Maui County Code, to add a definition of “family,” add “or a family” to the definition of “organization,” and to delineate the information that must be included in a proposal to name a street, park, or facility after a family.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of the proposed bill on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 21-552, and other related action.
