RESOLUTION 22-167, RELATING TO SETTLEMENT AUTHORIZATION: VIRGINIA A. CHAPMAN V. COUNTY OF MAUI DISABILITY COMPENSATION DIVISION CASE 7-18-01109 (GREAT-11(26))
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. Resolution 22-167, entitled “AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF VIRGINIA A. CHAPMAN V. COUNTY OF MAUI, DISABILITY COMPENSATION DIVISION CASE NO. 7-18-01109.” Resolution 22-167’s purpose is to authorize settlement of the claim, which alleges work related injuries sustained on July 6, 2018.
2. Correspondence dated July 5, 2022, from the County Clerk, with a letter from the Department of the Corporation Counsel, dated June 24, 2022, transmitting a copy of the WC-1 filed with the Disability Compensation Division of the Department of Labor.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 22-167, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of Resolution 22-167 and other related action.

With reference to this agenda item, one or more executive meetings are anticipated in accordance with Section 92-5(a)(4), Hawaii Revised Statutes, to consult with legal counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the powers, duties, immunities, and liabilities of the County, the Council, and the Committee.
