BILL 111 (2022), INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH RELATED TO COUNTYWIDE RESIDENTIAL CESSPOOL CONVERSION PROGRAM (BFED-112)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of Bill 111 (2022), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR A LOAN FROM THE STATE WATER POLLUTION CONTROL REVOLVING FUND FOR THE COUNTYWIDE RESIDENTIAL CESSPOOL CONVERSION PROGRAM.” Bill 111’s purpose is to authorize the Mayor to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of Health for a Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) Loan for the Countywide Residential Cesspool Conversion Program for an amount not to exceed $1,000,000. The funds are to assist property owners with the costs associated with residential cesspool conversions in compliance with Act 125.
Status
The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 111 (2022) on first reading, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider whether to recommend the filing of Bill 111 (2022) and other related action.
