SOUTH MAUI COMMUNITY PLAN UPDATE (PSLU-53)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of the following:
1. County Communication 22-102, from the Planning Director, relating to the South Maui Community Plan update process.
2. Resolution 22-173 entitled "APPOINTMENTS TO THE SOUTH MAUI COMMUNITY PLAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE." Resolution 22-173's purpose is to approve or disapprove applicants for the nine Council-appointed positions to the South Maui Community Plan Advisory Committee. The Committee timely received 38 applications and recommended the following 18 applicants as possible finalists for further consideration: Chris Franco, Cody Nemet, Daniel Kanahele, David Dorn, Donna Domingo, Everett Dowling, Genesis Young, Keoki Pfaeltzer, Lehua Huddleston-Hafoka, Mary Trotto, Michael Duberstein, Mike Moran, Paul Gammie, Rob Weltman, Robert Aldrich, Tina Wildberger, Tova Callender, and Vernon Kalanikau. The South Maui Community Plan Advisory Committee will function until the enactment of an ordinance adopting the decennial revision to the Kihei-Makena Community Plan.
3. Proposed CD1 version of Resolution 22-173, from Committee Chair Tamara Paltin, incorporating amendments to the title and inserting the names of the 18 recommended finalists selected by the Committee for possible appointment to the South Maui Community Plan Advisory Committee.
Status
The Committee may discuss the South Maui Community Plan update process. The Committee may interview the 18 recommended finalists for further consideration of appointment to the South Maui Community Plan Advisory Committee. The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 22-173, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider the filing of County Communication 22-102, and other related matters.
