COMPREHENSIVE AFFORDABLE HOUSING PLAN:  AFFORDABLE SALES PRICE GUIDELINES (AH-14(6))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Correspondence dated November 23, 2021, from Committee Chair Gabe Johnson, transmitting an informational document relating to affordable sales price guidelines. 

2.                     Bill 107 (2022), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.96, MAUI COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING SALES PRICE GUIDELINES.”  Bill 107’s purpose is to establish a new method of determining the sales price for a workforce housing unit.

3.                     Affordable Housing Committee Report 22-62, recommitted by the Council at its meeting of July 15, 2022.

4.                     Correspondence dated August 10, 2022, from the Corporation Counsel, transmitting Bill 107, CD1 (2022), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.96.060, MAUI COUNTY CODE, RELATING TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING SALES PRICE GUIDELINES.”  Bill 107, CD1’s purpose is to establish a new method of determining the sales price for a workforce housing unit.

5.                     Correspondence dated August 12, 2022, from Committee Chair Gabe Johnson, transmitting a proposed amendment.  The purpose of the proposed amendment is to amend Bill 107, CD1 (2022) to specify that funds may be committed immediately following project approval and to make nonsubstantive revisions.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 107, CD1 (2022) on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider whether to recommend the filing of Bill 107, CD1 (2022) and other related action.
