APPOINTMENT AND REMOVAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS (RESOLUTION 23-39, RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF SCOTT TERUYA AS DIRECTOR OF FINANCE) (GREAT-1(5))
Description
The Committee is in receipt of Resolution 23-39, entitled “APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF SCOTT TERUYA AS THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE.” Resolution 23-39’s purpose is to approve the appointment of Scott Teruya as the Director of Finance, in accordance with Sections 6-2(5) and 8-4.2 of the Revised Charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended.
Status
The Council must approve or disapprove the appointment by March 13, 2023, or the appointment will be deemed approved. The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of Resolution 23-39 to approve the appointment, with or without revisions. The Committee may also consider whether to revise Resolution 23-39 to disapprove the appointment, and other related action.

With reference to this agenda item, one or more executive meetings are anticipated in accordance with Section 92-5(a)(2), Hawaii Revised Statutes, to consider the hire, evaluation, dismissal, or discipline of officers or employees.
