BILL 108 (2023), AMENDING FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET: APPENDIX B, DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY (BFED-48)
Description
The Committee is in receipt of Bill 108 (2023), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI, APPENDIX B, DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY.” Bill 108’s purpose is to amend the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget, Appendix B, Revenues - Fees, Rates, Assessments and Taxes, Department of Water Supply, Water Fund, by 1) adding two new categories of revenue sources, “Emergency Water Charge” and “Temporary Irrigation Charge”; 2) amending Installation Charges to authorize the director of water supply to waive any of the costs associated with water service installation for properties in which infrastructure was destroyed or otherwise rendered non-operational due to disaster or emergency and resulting in a proclamation of a state of emergency; and 3) amending Water System Development Fees to authorize the director of water supply to waive the water development fee for properties in which a water meter was destroyed or otherwise rendered non-operational due to disaster or emergency and resulting in a proclamation of a state of emergency.
