NOMINATIONS TO BOARDS, COMMITTEES, AND COMMISSIONS (CONSERVATION PLANNING COMMITTEE)  (GREAT-2(26))

 

Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Correspondence dated June 8, 2021 (received on June 9, 2021), from the Mayor, transmitting a proposed resolution, entitled “APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE CONSERVATION PLANNING COMMITTEE FOR THE COUNTY OF MAUI,” with completed applications for the nominees.  The purpose of the proposed resolution is to approve or disapprove the Mayor’s nominations of:

•                     Vernon Kalanikau (Aha Moku), for a term expiring March 31, 2022;

•                     Michelle Gould (University of Hawaii Maui College), for a term expiring March 31, 2023; and

•                     Dale Bonar (Land Trust), for a term expiring March 31, 2024.

2.                     Correspondence dated June 9, 2021, from the Mayor, informing of the Mayor’s appointments of seven ex-officio non-voting members for terms expiring January 2, 2023, concurrent with the Mayor’s term of office, to the Conservation Planning Committee.

 

Status

There is no time limitation for Council approval or disapproval of the nominations.  The Committee may consider whether to recommend adoption of the proposed resolution, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider other related action.
