Description

The Committee is in receipt of the following:

1.                     Bill 89 (2026), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE STATE LAND USE DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION FROM THE AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT TO THE RURAL DISTRICT FOR A 6.097-ACRE PORTION OF TAX MAP KEY (2) 2-7-007:008, HAMAKUALOA, HAWAI‘I.”  Bill 89’s purpose is to grant a District Boundary Amendment from Agricultural District to Rural District for 6.097 acres in Hāmākualoa, Hawai‘i, identified for Real Property Tax purposes as a portion of Tax Map Key (2) 2-7-007:008, for the Ha‘ikū Fire Station.

2.                     Bill 90 (2026), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE PA‘IA-HA‘IKU COMMUNITY PLAN, (1995) AS AMENDED, LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM AGRICULTURE TO PUBLIC/QUASI-PUBLIC FOR A 6.097-ACRE PORTION OF TAX MAP KEY (2) 2-7-007:008, HAMAKUALOA, HAWAII.”  Bill 90’s purpose is to amend the Pa‘ia-Ha‘iku Community Plan land use designation from Agriculture to Public/Quasi-Public for 6.097 acres in Hāmākualoa, Hawai‘i, identified for Real Property Tax purposes as a portion of Tax Map Key (2) 2-7-007:008, for the Ha‘ikū Fire Station.

3.                     Bill 91 (2026), entitled “A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE ZONING FROM THE AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT TO THE P-1, PUBLIC/QUASI-PUBLIC DISTRICT FOR A 6.097-ACRE PORTION OF TAX MAP KEY (2) 2-7-007:008, HAMAKUALOA, HAWAI‘I.”  Bill 91’s purpose is to grant a Change in Zoning from Agricultural District to P-1 Public/Quasi-Public District for 6.097 acres in Hāmākualoa, Hawai‘i, identified for Real Property Tax purposes as a portion of Tax Map Key (2) 2-7-007:008, for the Ha‘ikū Fire Station.

4.                     Correspondence dated May 21, 2026, from the Planning Director, transmitting the Department of Planning’s report, Maui Planning Commission’s recommendations, and other related documents.

 

Status

The Committee may consider whether to recommend passage of Bill 89 (2026), Bill 90 (2026), and Bill 91 (2026) on first reading, with or without revisions.  The Committee may also consider the filing of Bill 89 (2026), Bill 90 (2026), and Bill 91 (2026) and other related action.
